& why it made the Carpe City list

Created by Pegu Club alum Kenta Goto, this chill, dark izakaya is one of our favorite spots in the LES.
No reservations, so you might have a wait. It’s a small spot and best for groups of two to four people.
It has a dark, loungey feel and is pretty chill even on the busy nights which makes it a great spot for a date and quality conversation. (And not so good for food pics as you can see from that high-quality chicken wing snap above!)
The drinks are top-notch with an ever-changing menu of creative craft cocktails, plus wine, beer, sake and shochu.
You might come for the drinks and the atmosphere, but the Japanese small bites are not to be missed.
The miso slathered delicacies on the menu are not your average sports bar chicken wings. They are some of the best in the city.
We found service to be great at the bar and at the tables. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Get: Miso Wings, Celery and at least one of the Okonomi-Yaki dishes.
