Dog-friendly, great beer and brown spirits selection & real rock ‘n’ roll
One of the few bars in the city that allows dogs INSIDE the bar
Part of the reason it is dog-friendly is that they don’t cook any food. They do however offer pickles and popcorn.
Even better, you can bring in your own food, and Little Frankies is only a block away. (Some other nearby tasty and easy options are Caracas Arepa Bar, and just south of Houston, the Cheese Grille and the Meatball Shop.)
DBA was one of the first proper beer bars, before the start of the craft beer bonanza, when most bars were still serving Amstel Light as their main “imported” beer.
Besides beer they have an extensive whiskey collection.
Overall atmosphere is decidedly divey with a seasoned staff who know their beer and spirits.
There is a nice-sized garden in the back with a no-frills picnic table scene where you might find a few meetups with pups during the day.
The music is solid old school rock.
On weekdays, happy hour runs until 9pm.
