The Hole NYC, known for unique and innovative contemporary art, was founded in July 2010 by Kathy Grayson. She says their goal is to “fill a hole in the downtown community.” (This may begin with their clever logo: the word “the” inside of a black hole!)
The Hole presents monthly solo and group exhibitions, focusing on “emerging artists and thematic group shows.” It’s a collaboration across the arts. They represent artists from America and abroad and have exhibited hundreds more.
After opening a second location in Tribeca in Spring 2021, they expanded to a new 8,000 sq. ft. space in Los Angeles in February 2022.
In between exhibitions, you can see performances, events, and special projects across disciplines to support collaboration and the downtown artist community.
