- The New Allen is an artist collective dedicated to transforming Allen Street into one long, colorful street art gallery.
- The art runs from Delancey Street north to Houston. We suggest you start at the north side of Allen and Delancey and walk along the median in the middle of the street, referred to as the Allen Mall.
- The art changes frequently, but here are a few tidbits about some artists whose pieces have featured prominently along #TheNewAllen project.
- Local artist Sara Erenthal, whose work empowers women and combats unrealistic beauty standards and sexism. https://www.saraerenthal.com/mural
- International artists such as The London Police https://www.instagram.com/thelondonpolice/
- The Blue Gecko by DJ Neff @DJn3ff http://www.neffink.com/about
- Perhaps most visible among the murals is the Nicopanda “Love Beyond Borders,” mural rising above the buildings on Allen Street and Stanton. The theme of the piece is unity, inclusivity, and community. Find out more about Nicopanda here. https://www.nicopanda.com/blogs/fashion/love-beyond-borders
- Nearby Love Beyond Borders, you will see a lion mural by Sonny, a self-taught South African street artist dedicated to animal welfare. Learn more about Sonny’s international murals and his cause here. http://sonnyonline.com
